Lovettsville Game Club gears up for 6-day carnival

It’s four months late, but the Lovettsville Game Protective Association’s annual carnival will take place this week and next, with fewer attractions and social distancing practices in place.

The carnival, hosted by Snyder’s Amusements, will only feature children’s rides and a food court. The first three days will run from this Thursday to Saturday September 17-19. The carnival will last from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Thursday and Friday and from 4 p.m. to 10 p.m. on Saturday.

Steve George and Friends will also be giving a free outdoor concert on the Game Club deck from 4 p.m. to 8 p.m. this Saturday.

The next three days of the carnival will take place from Thursday to next Saturday, September 24 to 26, from 6 p.m. to 10 p.m. each evening.

Carnival, which typically lasts 10 non-consecutive days, was originally scheduled for May this year, but has been moved to September and cut back in response to the COVID-19 pandemic. Game Club president Fred George said Snyder’s Amusements will run the carnival in full compliance with city, county, state and federal social distancing regulations.

“They know what to do,” he said.
